Shaping Petals from Polymer Clay

How I Create Earrings From Start to Finish

Step 1: Inspiration Strikes 🌈

To create may earrings, it starts with inspiration! Inspiration can come from anywhere—a colour in nature, a bold print, a mood board, or even a pair of funky socks. My phone is always with me, taking photos of nature and things that inspire me and my designs

Step 2: Choosing the Perfect Palette

I mix all my colours by hand from primary polymer clay blocks. No pre-made colours here—just me, some colour theory, and a whole lot of experimenting.

💡 Favourite combos:

  • Pink + blush + gold leaf

  • Deep navy + speckled white

  • Mustard Yellow + Gold shimmer

Step 3: Shaping & Sculpting

Once the colours are ready, I roll and cut them into shapes—arches, flowers, drops, you name it! Every piece is smoothed, textured, and detailed by hand. This is where each design becomes truly unique.

Step 4: Into the Oven 🔥

After shaping, it’s baking time. I use ceramic tiles or trays to bake each batch at just the right temperature (too hot and they burn, too cool and they’re brittle!).

Once cooled, I sand every edge and surface by hand to keep things smooth and soft on the ears.

Step 5: Assembly Magic 🔩

Here’s where the magic happens add jump rings, hypoallergenic studs, gold hoops, or beaded dangles to complete the look. I use only nickel-free, sensitive-skin-safe findings to keep them comfy all day long.

Step 6: Ready to Sparkle 💌

Once polished, each pair is packaged in eco-friendly materials—ready to be gifted or worn right away. I love seeing the final pieces leave the studio and find their new homes.
